23-Year-Old Florida Mom Found Dead In Canal

The body of a missing Florida mother has been found on the Okeechobee Waterway canal in Indiantown, WESH reports. 

Perrin Damron, 23, was found dead by law enforcement after they went searching for her when she didn’t show up to see her child’s father on Saturday.

Damron reportedly left voluntarily with a family friend of her mother’s from Jupiter, named Eric William Westergard.

Video surveillance from a Ring camera captured Westergard near the home of Damron. Police are asking that if anyone has additional footage to please come forward.

The cause of death has not be released but Westergard has been taken into custody by the Palm Beach County, with help from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. He is charged with first degree murder.

Damron once raised money for Westergard with a Gofundme she has set up to help him when he had legal issues from when the kangaroo that he owned escaped from a sanctuary in Jupiter Farms. He was received several citations from the The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, CW34 reports.
