At Least 23 Dead, Multiple Injured After Metro Train Overpass Collapses In Mexico City

A subway overpass collapsed in Mexico City, Mexico around 10:25 PM CDT on Monday night killing at least 23 and injuring at least 65 who are hospitalized. Reports say that at least 7 in critical condition, according to CNN.

This is the newest rail line also known as “Linea Dorada” or Golden Line.

A support beam on metro's Line 12 gave away just as a train passed over it, says the Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum.

This tragedy will be investigated according to Sheinbaum, "If there's a need for an external investigation, there will be one," say's the mayor. "We will get to the truth and we will get justice." 

Currently a crane is being used to hold up the train so that the victims can be rescued.
