At Least 45 Dead, Including 12 Children In Bulgarian Bus Crash

At least 45 are dead, including 12 children after a tourist bus carrying 53 people crashed and burned in Bulgaria around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday on the on the Struma highway as they were leaving North Macedonia capital.

Several are being treated for burns and lacerations for non life threatening injuries and were listed in stable condition.

The survivors were sitting at the back of the bus and broke out the windows in a effort to flee the bus to saftely.

The group was returning from Istanbul, Turkey, according to Monika Markovska, an official at the North Macedonian Embassy in Bulgaria's capital, Sofia. The Bulgarian Ministry of Interior confirmed that the bus was registered in North Macedonia, according to ABC.

The cause of the horrific crash is now under investigation.
