Beyonce has officially released her new album and seventh solo work "Renaissance." Beyonce teased that the album was part of a trilogy of albums that she worked on over the three years of the pandemic, a time she says she found to be "most creative." It has been six years since Beyonce's last solo album release.

An unauthorized version of "Renaissance" had leaked online two days early. Some fans even reported being able to purchase the CD in stores in France. Beyonce recognized the leak in an Instagram post, in a seemingly handwritten statement.

“So, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together," she wrote. "I’ve never seen anything like it. I can't thank y'all enough for your love and protection."

Beyonce announced this album in a dissimilar fashion than usual. While she has previously dropped albums without prior announcement, for "Renaissance," she did an interview with British Vogue, put out the single "Break My Soul" and posted it on TikTok.

The album's production credits featured many high-profile producers' names, such as Mike Dean, Skrillex and The Dream. Beyonce says that her intention in creating the album was to “create a safe place, a place without judgment.”
