Florida Man Sentenced to 10 Years In Prison After Attempting To Meet With A Pregnant 12-Year-Old For Sex

In Jacksonville, FL, a man has been sentenced to jail time for using the internet in efforts to lure a 12-year-old child to take part in sexual activity according to Wesh 2.

The 32-year-old man identified as Sanjay Lama was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and will serve a 10-year period of supervised release as well as register as a sex offender.

Lama is a Nepal citizen who was living legally in the country. Lama was arrested in September of 2019 and was found guilty in March of this year. According to officials, Lama was caught when an undercover FBI agent who was posing as a pregnant 12-year-old girl over the internet was contacted by him in September of 2019.

Lama sent over 160 text messages expressing his yearning to meet “the child” and partake in sexual activity.

On that same day, Lama left work on his motorcycle and arranged to meet at a shopping center in south Jacksonville to meet “the child” to take her to a nearby residence for sex. 

Upon arriving at the meeting location, Lama was approached by FBI agents while texting “the child” and was arrested.
