21-year-old Robert "Bobby" Crimo III has been charged with seven counts of first-degree murder in the mass shooting that took place at an Independence Day parade in Highland Park, Illinois, according to Lake County State's Attorney Eric Rinehart. The vicious attack left seven people dead and at least 46 others injured as they watched the festivities unknowingly of what was yet to unfold.

Rinehart vowed that additional charges would be brought forward such as attempted murder, aggravated battery, and more as the investigation continues. He also stated that Crimo would be held without bail.

Crimo has faced two previous altercations with the police, where they removed multiple knives from his home in 2019.

VP Kamela Harris visited the crime scene along with her husband First Man Doug Harris on Tuesday evening to pay their respects. after an invitation from Mayor Nancy Rotering.
