On Sunday, the American Music Awards brought together the biggest names in music to celebrate musical accomplishments of the last year. Hosted by Cardi B, the show proved to be one to remember.

Leading the list of nominations was best new artist of the year, Olivia Rodrigo with seven nominations, followed by The Weeknd with six. Other artists nominated multiple times included Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Silk Sonic, Taylor Swift and more.

Before the show officially kicked off, Taylor Swift broke her own record for the most AMA wins of all time, bringing her total count to 34 after winning favorite female pop artist along with best pop album for “evermore”. Also facing much success was BTS, who came out on top for artist of the year for the first time ever, along with wins for favorite pop group and pop song for “Butter”.

BTS was set to perform the remix to “Butter” with Megan Thee Stallion but due to the death of her friend Young Dolph earlier this week, the collaboration could not happen. Adding to her collection of awards, Megan Thee Stallion won an AMA for favorite female hip-hop artist, trending song and hip-hop album. Drake and Ed Sheeran received the awards for favorite pop and male hip-hop artist.

Performers of the night included names such as Bad Bunny, BTS, Chlöe, Coldplay, Diplo, Olivia Rodrigo, Silk Sonic and Tyler, The Creator.
