MMA fighter Akmal aka “Animal” Khozhiev, 27, is accused of murdering Dr. Miran Ribati, 42, Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Poinciana Apartments over a disagreement pertaining to the COVID-19 vaccine, MMA news reports.

Things got out of hand when Khozhiev and Ribati returned home from the beach to have dinner and the professional fighter placed Dr. Ribati in a rear-naked chokehold. A bystander broke up the initial assault and was struck twice in the head by Khozhiev.

Khozhiev then ran into the home and grabbed an animal bone he had been eating from the dinner table and chased down the doctor where he used it to stab him in the neck multiple times, killing him.

Ribati, who's a radiologist and the fighter, knew each other from the gym and were friends of some sort up until the argument. A witness says that they heard Khozhiev tell the victim that he didn’t trust him anymore, according to Post Guam news.

When police arrived at the scene Khozhiev confessed and said, "Sir, it's me, it's me, I killed him”.

Khozhiev is being charged with aggravated murder as a first-degree felony and aggravated assault as a second-degree felony, according to the Guam Police Department.
