After ongoing health issues, Wendy Williams has been off of the air with The Wendy Williams Show since last fall. The last season with Williams as the host was taped in July 2021 while new episodes have been hosted by Sherri Shepherd and guests. Now, The Wendy Williams Show is officially coming to an end for Shepherd to have her own show, Sherri.

Most recently, Williams stated that she would not be watching Shepherd’s new daytime talk show. Stating that she liked Shepherd, Williams said the show is “really not my thing.” Despite these remarks, Shepherd had no bad blood with Williams.

"I would say that everyone should be praying for Wendy right now,” Shepherd said to ET Canada. “I'm truly concerned for her because I don't feel like there's anybody over there protecting her. Shepherd added that while grateful for the hosting opportunity, she has not spoken to Williams since the decision was made.

Sherri will take over the daytime slot previously allocated for William’s show. It will be airing this September.

Williams has vowed to come back to her own show at some point.
