The Start of the 2021 NBA Conference Semi-Finals

June 04, 2021

By: Nick McIntosh

This has got to be the most exciting playoffs. As these games are getting back to normal, a lot of excitement has perused these last couple of weeks.

Let us get started with the latest game in the West.

(2) PHX Wins Series (4-2)

The last time we saw the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns verse head-to-head was back in 2010 of the Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash era. We all know how that ended. Kobe Bryant took the Lakers to The Finals and won. Now we are in similar yet deferent circumstances. Still the series was won by six. Now Los Angeles Lakers has been struggling and that was on full display today. From not attacking in the paint, to having horrible defense. From the start, the Lakers said to, “Stop the 3s.” They failed to do that. Lakers are the 7th team to be beat out from the first round after winning The Finals the previous year. Also, this is Lebron James’ 1st First Round loss making his record 14-1. Devin Booker and Chris Paul are on fire right now. Now the real question is, will the Suns keep this flame heading back to Phoenix?

The (2) Phoenix Suns will host the (3) Denver Nuggets Monday, June 7, 2021, on TNT.

(3) DEN Wins Series (4-2)

As we talked about the how great Phoenix Suns, it is just the same in Denver. Denver offense is on fire. Leading that charge are superstars Michael Porter Jr. and Nikola Jokic. Now TNT commentator and former Phoenix Suns, Charles Barkley, lost a $100,000 and said, “The Portland Trail Blazers will win the West and go to The Finals.” Obviously, that did not happen. Denver rallied to beat Portland to secure them the next spot in the 2021 NBA Playoffs. What is next for Denver? Well, they go to the desert, and it is not going to be easy. Phoenix just beat the defending champs. Yes, you can argue the Suns had it easy with Lakers’ injuries. However, Denver Nuggets were 2020 Western Conference Runner Ups so that is a challenge within itself.

The (2) Phoenix Suns will host the (3) Denver Nuggets Monday, June 7, 2021, on TNT.

(1) UTA Wins Series (4-1)

As expected, Utah Jazz defeated Memphis Grizzlies. Now they must wait. Jazz is getting that extra rest at home while they await the outcome of Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks.

The (1) Utah Jazz will host either the (4) Los Angeles Clippers or the (5) Dallas Mavericks on TBD.

(5) DAL Leads Series (3-2)

The only game in the 2021 NBA Playoffs First Round that has not been decided. We must await the outcome. This is getting shaky since the Clippers are in the favor to win.

The (4) Los Angeles Lakers will visit (5) Dallas Mavericks Today on ESPN

If Needed, Game 7 will end at LA Sunday, June 6, 2021, on TBD

As we broke down the West let us get started in the East.

This starts the Conference Semi-Finals tomorrow in Brooklyn.

(1) PHI Wins Series (4-1)

As expected, the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Washington Wizards.  This game was expected to go the way as it did

The (1) Philadelphia 76ers will host the (4) Atlanta Hawks Sunday, June 6, 2021, on ABC

(5) ATL Wins Series (4-1)

This was rather exciting for the city of Atlanta. Even more exciting for the embattled New York Knicks. But, let me tell you. Those NY Knicks fans do not know how to act. Either this behavior was caused by many days in isolation during the pandemic or something else. Anyways, ATL got that win and they move on to their toughest challenge yet. The 76ers.

The (1) Philadelphia 76ers will host the (4) Atlanta Hawks Sunday, June 6, 2021, on ABC

(3) MIL Wins Series (4-0)

A good day to be a Milwaukie Fan. Unlike last year, they have dropped a couple seeds. The biggest shock was both teams that were in The Finals last year, got that chance stripped away. Miami Heat got swept. Poor defense and offense throughout the game. Now Milwaukie has the chance to make it, but their biggest challenge lies in the next series. The question is, will Milwaukie have the momentum to push through KD and Harden?

The (2) Brooklyn Nets will host the (3) Milwaukie Bucks Tomorrow on TNT.

(2) BKN Wins Series (4-1)

This was a tough one for the Brooklyn Nets. And if you are talking about them going head-to-head against the Boston Celtics, that was not their challenge. The Nets challenge was the Boston fans. Yes, the fans. Like the one NY Knicks fan dropped popcorn on Trae Young, a whole bunch of naughty behavior happened in Brooklyn. But that is over. Can Harden and KD keep this team going?

The (2) Brooklyn Nets will host the (3) Milwaukie Bucks Tomorrow on TNT.

That is, it for me today. We will break down the 2021 NBA Conference Semi-Finals once they are complete. Note that any date is subject to change. For Now, I am Nick McIntosh with The Total Plug.
