Shortly after three young sisters were reported missing, Texas Police found their bodies in a pond, reported Fox News.

At around 10 p.m on Friday a family friend, who the girls were staying with reported them missing. Police began searching immediately, and found a pair of shoes and footprints on the edge of a pond nearby. According to Cass County Sheriff's Office, the three girls, 9-year-old Zi’ariel Oliver, 8-year-old Amanda Hughes, and 5-year-old Temari Oliver were found at the bottom, at roughly 2 a.m. The mother of the sisters, who are unnamed confirmed that the shoes were one of her daughters.

The police are conducting an investigation into the girl's death, but have not announced a criminal inquiry. Their bodies have been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death, reported Fox News.

Lieutenant Game Warden Jason Jones told KTAL: "That is unknown, whether they were swimmers or not. None of them had life jackets on, so I don’t know how strong of swimmers they were or if were swimmers at all,"
